Beaches
One of the island's treasures are definitely its beaches and coves. There are beaches for all kind of tastes, from beaches with tourist services to hidden virgin coves. All of them have one thing in common though: the crystal waters. The enormous natural diversity held within the Minorcan coves and beaches makes it possible for us to discover endemic species to the island amongst its fascinating underwater world as the nature that surrounds it.
Temperature
Sea temperatures vary from around 28°C (84°F) in August to 13°C (55°F) in January. In November and June you can expect a temperature of about 18°C (64°F), warming up the closer to the summer months you get.
Waterquality
The quality of the water is mostly very good on Minorca and a lot of beaches even remind us of the Caribbean with its turquoise waters and fine white sand beaches.
Wind
The wind comes mainly from the north direction. In some places a slight sea wind can blow during the day. It can become quite uncomfortable, when the strong Tramontana blows from the north or the Sirocco from the south.
Nudists
Minorca is a quite open minded island. At most beaches you will see top less women at all ages. Nevertheless Minorca is also famous for being a family island and nudism is usually practiced at the more secluded beaches away from the masses.
